Towson Area Open Garden Tour

Join us for a landscape tour of Towson Area private properties. These native gardens are on privately owned residential properties featuring many different conditions – sun, shade, woods, rain gardens, and water bodies such as ponds and streams. You will get a chance to see different garden settings and layouts as well as ideas to reduce storm water runoff, which ultimately reduces damage to the local watershed and beyond.

Many of these properties also have their fair share of invasive species that owners are actively trying to tackle on an ongoing basis in an effort to reduce stress on our already stressed native species and our environment in general. The native flora that many of these homeowners have chosen for their gardens not only provide food for various local fauna that depend on them, but are also key to building a healthy ecosystem while absorbing carbon from the atmosphere.

People who have signed up will receive a tour guide a week prior to the event. This document will contain addresses of participating gardens and other relevant information. You may visit the gardens at your own pace and visit all or a subset of the gardens on the list. The hosts will be available to answer questions. We ask that you be mindful of the timeframe and finish visiting gardens by 6pm.
